Common Questions

Contrast Therapy FAQ

What is contrast therapy?
Contrast therapy alternates periods of heat and cold. At Float Goats, guests use a private full-spectrum infrared sauna followed by a professionally maintained cold plunge.
How cold is the plunge?
Our cold plunges are generally maintained around 45–50°F. Exact temperatures may vary slightly as the equipment cycles.
How hot is the infrared sauna?
Our infrared saunas are typically heated to approximately 155°F. Infrared heat often feels different from the air heat experienced in a traditional sauna.
What should I wear?
Most guests wear a bathing suit or comfortable athletic clothing suitable for both the sauna and cold plunge. Bring dry clothing to change into afterward.
Do I need previous cold plunge experience?
No. Many of our guests are first-time plungers. Start with a comfortable amount of time and gradually work toward longer cold exposure as your body adapts.
Can two people book together?
Yes. Contact Float Goats or review the current booking options to select the appropriate session and number of guests.
How long is a session?
Float Goats offers both 30-minute and 60-minute contrast therapy options. Choose the session that best matches your experience level and recovery goals.
How often should I use contrast therapy?
Frequency depends on your goals, schedule and overall health. Some guests visit occasionally, while members make contrast therapy part of a consistent weekly recovery routine.
Can I use contrast therapy after exercising?
Many guests schedule sessions after training to relax and recover. The best timing can depend on your workout style, performance goals and medical history.
Is contrast therapy appropriate for everyone?
Heat and cold exposure may not be appropriate for every medical condition. Guests who are pregnant, have heart or circulation concerns, uncontrolled blood pressure, reduced sensation or other medical conditions should consult their healthcare professional before booking.
